total.jpegTotal works closely with ST since the founding of this company. Themes of our co-operation are mainly relative to fluids pressure and volume measurements at reservoir conditions in order to perform vapor liquid equilibrium thermodynamic characterization of hydrocarbon fluids.

Among ST equipments stemmed from this co-operation, I can mention :

• A mini laboratory for field "QUAD", enabling to carry out experiments on drilling rig within a time compatible with test decision. This equipment is one of the first worldwide running on site in operation mode. It has been used many times on Total Group's exploration wells.

• A viscometer enabling this magnitude measurement in a large range of pressure, temperature and viscosity. This magnitude is essential for oilfield development and has to be very accurate. The equipments of the market do not offer this accuracy.

• An extension of the minilab "QUAD" to condensate gas characterization. This unit is being tested at the moment. It makes possible on site characterization of fluids discovered in exploration.


• An equipment for miscibility characterization by gas injection. This equipment is indispensable for modelling process due to gas injection regarding the fact that flaring is set to disappear in the next few years within Total Group which militates in favour of sustainable development.

We justify our co-operation with ST by its great professionalism. This company always looks for realistic solutions to our demanding requirements, taking into account our specifications on accuracy and measurements.
Thanks to dialogue and mutual understanding, we have created equipments that have always led to industrial goods. The implemented technical innovations made it possible to reach accuracy on measurements we hoped to obtain. They also enabled to make equipments automatable at affordable costs.
